Site EHS Manager

Due to continued growth and expansion, the company is now seeking to recruit a Site EHS Manager.

Position Title: This is a full-time hybrid role for an Site EHS Manager at Astatine Ltd.

The successful candidate is responsible for leading and coordinating the effective implementation of Astatine Environmental, Health and Safety requirements across the Lisheen Solar Farm project. The role supports the EHS Manager and site leadership team in ensuring that work activities are planned, managed, and delivered in compliance with company standards, statutory obligations, and project-specific requirements. This position provides day-to-day EHS leadership, supports risk management and incident prevention, monitors site compliance, and promotes a positive safety and environmental culture across all personnel, contractors, and work activities.

  • Working Hours: Full time – Mon to Friday – 7.30am to 5.00 pm (45hr Contract )

  • Responsibilities:
    • Lead the day-to-day implementation of Astatine’s Environmental, Health and Safety requirements across the Lisheen Solar Farm project.
    • Support the EHS Manager and project leadership team in maintaining compliance with company standards, statutory requirements etc.
    • Carry out regular site inspections, audits, safety walks, and compliance checks, ensuring findings are recorded, communicated, and closed out effectively.
    • Review and support the preparation of risk assessments, RAMS, permits, emergency arrangements, and other site EHS documentation.
    • Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with site rules, safe systems of work, training requirements, and environmental controls.
    • Lead or support incident, near miss, environmental event, and non-conformance investigations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are identified and completed.
    • Deliver and coordinate site inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and EHS awareness initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate EHS records, registers, inspection reports, audit findings, incident logs, training records, and compliance evidence.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly EHS performance reports, including leading indicators, trends, actions, and key areas for improvement.
    • Promote a proactive safety and environmental culture by engaging with site teams, contractors, and management on safe behaviours and continuous improvement.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of construction site EHS management.
    • Good understanding of Irish health, safety and environmental legislation, construction regulations, and industry best practice.
    • Ability to influence, coach, and engage site personnel, contractors, and supervisors in safe working practices.
    • Strong communication, reporting, organisation, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Confident using Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems including ACC to maintain records, track actions, and prepare EHS performance reports.
    • Proactive, practical, and solutions-focused approach with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced site environment.
  • Qualifications & Experience:
  • Relevant third-level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant EHS experience in construction, civil engineering, renewable energy, infrastructure, or a similar site-based environment.
  • Professional health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience working with contractors, subcontractors, project teams, and site management in a live construction environment.
  • Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 desirable.
  • Full driving licence.
