Procurement Lead

Position Title: As the Senior Buyer / Procurement Lead, you will own and lead the procurement strategy and execution across all capital projects. You will be responsible for ensuring best-in-class supplier engagement, value-driven contract negotiation, and reliable material and equipment sourcing across multiple high-impact decarbonisation initiatives. This is a key role in scaling our delivery capabilities and supporting major infrastructure rollouts in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.

• Location: Hybrid working model – Work from Astatine’s offices located in Guinness Enterprise Centre, Dublin 8 when required, otherwise work remotely/from home.

• Working Hours: Full time – Monday to Friday

• Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Strategy & Execution
    • Develop and lead Astatine’s procurement framework for major capital equipment (e.g., Solar Panels, cable, panel support systems, heat pumps, BESS, piping, valves, control systems).
    • Source, evaluate, and onboard strategic suppliers and OEM partners.
    • Build costed procurement schedules aligned with project timelines.
  • Commercial & Contract Management
    • Negotiate terms and framework agreements to reduce risk and optimise commercial outcomes.
    • Manage supplier performance, SLAs, and ensure contract compliance.
    • Support tendering and bid development with accurate, timely procurement inputs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with Engineering, Project Delivery, and Commercial teams to align procurement with project scope and design intent.
    • Engage early in the design process to influence value engineering and supplier standardisation.
    • Liaise with finance and legal for contract execution and cost tracking.
  • Supply Chain Risk & Sustainability
    • Monitor market trends, pricing risks, and lead-time fluctuations.
    • Drive sustainable procurement practices and ensure compliance with ESG policies.
    • Mitigate risks related to geopolitical or logistics disruptions.
• Relevant Experience:
  • 7+ years in procurement, preferably in energy, industrial, or construction sectors.
  • Proven experience managing procurement for large capital projects (€1M+ value).
  • Strong negotiation skills and contract knowledge (e.g., NEC3/4, FIDIC, bespoke supply contracts).
  • Familiarity with technical equipment: HVAC, electrical systems, pressure vessels, etc.
  • Degree in Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) is advantageous.
