Astatine Ltd is a specialist company delivering decarbonisation and energy transition solutions for industrial sectors. We design and implement high-impact systems such as high-temperature heat pumps, waste heat recovery, flue gas treatment, and process integration projects across Ireland and the UK.
Due to continued growth and expansion, the company is now seeking to recruit a Estimator.
- Salary: Negotiable based on relevant experience
- Start Date: ASAP
- Location: Hybrid working model – Work from Astatine’s offices located in Guinness Enterprise Centre, Dublin 8 when required, otherwise work remotely/from home.

- Working Hours: Full time – Monday to Friday

- Reports To: Commercial Manager / Operations Director
- Role Overview:
- As an Estimator, you will play a key role in developing accurate, competitive cost estimates for mechanical and energy-related infrastructure projects. You will work closely with engineering, commercial, and project delivery teams to ensure pricing is aligned with scope, technical requirements, and delivery expectations.
- This role offers the opportunity to work on complex mechanical systems that enable large industrial clients to reduce energy use, emissions, and operational costs.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical and supporting civil/electrical works (e.g., heat pumps, waste heat recovery systems, flue systems, thermal integration).
- Analyse design documents, site data, and specifications to produce accurate Bills of Quantities and pricing schedules.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Support tender submissions and client proposals with structured cost breakdowns and risk assessments.
- Maintain internal cost databases, unit rates, and benchmarking tools.
- Participate in site surveys, pre-bid meetings, and technical briefings to inform estimates.
- Work with engineering and delivery teams to ensure constructability and cost-effectiveness of proposed solutions.
- Assist with post-bid reviews, negotiations, and project handovers.
- Required Experience & Qualifications:
- 3–7 years’ experience in estimating, ideally in mechanical or industrial infrastructure sectors.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, heat exchangers, or pressure vessels.
- Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating tools (e.g., CostX, Candy, or Excel-based models).
- Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
