Ahascragh Distillery

Project Overview:
Creating Ireland’s First Zero – Emission Distillery. The combination of solar energy, hydro and very high temperature heat pumps, will make Ahascragh the first zero emission distillery in Ireland. Renewable heat and power specialists Astatine have developed and installed a revolutionary new system which will become the first in Ireland to use a heat pump above 100°C in Ireland, using water up to 120°C.

120°C Milestone First Process Heat Pump in Ireland & UK
0 Fossil Fuels 100% Clean, Renewable Heat with no Onsite Combustion
4x Efficiency Up to 4x the Output from Every Input

Key Results:

Ahascragh received €500,000 in capital support as part of SEAI’s EXEED Programme, aimed at organisations who are planning an energy efficient investment project. Funding is also available from IDA and Enterprise Ireland. Utilising the various grants available results in typical paybacks of under 3 years.

High temperature heat pumps are the cornerstone of the Ireland’s strategy of decarbonising industrial heat. Astatine, with our experiences management team and leading global supply chain, are perfectly placed to help you decarbonise your business.
