- Working Hours: Full time – Mon to Friday (Hybrid model 3 days in the office)
- Location: Hybrid working model – Work from Astatine’s offices located in Guinness Enterprise Centre, Dublin 8 when required, or from client sites as and when required, otherwise work remotely/from home. Option of working from our Dingle office also.
Job Summary:
- We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Technician to join our engineering and design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings and plans for a range of projects. This role involves working closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure designs are precise, functional, and aligned with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare technical drawings: create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, schematics, and blueprint using CAD software.
- Collaboration: work closely with Engineers, Architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Revisions and modifications: make necessary revisions and drawings based on feedback and project developments.
- Compliance: ensure drawings and designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Documentation: maintain accurate records of all drawings, revisions, and design documentation.
- Project support: assist in the planning and execution of engineering or construction projects by providing accurate and timely drawings.
- Problem solving: identify design discrepancies and propose solutions to optimise the drawing process.
- Quality Control: review and verify dimensions, measurements, and technical details for accuracy before final submission.
- Attention to detail, ability to produce highly accurate and detailed drawings.
- Time Management: ability to work on multiple projects with a tight deadline.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Relevant Experience:
- Project Management – strong ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Experience:
- 2+ years’ experience as a CAD Technician in an engineering or architectural environment.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit).
- Strong understanding of design principles and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and best practices.
- Experience with 2D and 3D modelling and visualisation software.
- Experience of mechanical drawings (P&ID, equipment layout, pipe route, tie-ins) electrical (SLD, containment drawings, loop diagrams, switchgear) and planning type large scale site layout drawings advantageous.
